‘O baú de Filomena’ é o mais novo livro da escritora Tereza Custódio. O lançamento será às 20h desta segunda-feira, 8 de março, Dia Internacional da Mulher, em parceria com a CJA Editora, a UBE/RN e o Mulherio das Letras Zila Mamede.
A obra com protagonismo feminino e escrita por uma mulher narra o retorno de Filomena Vieira às suas raízes na Fazenda Riacho Claro, no sertão nordestino. No casarão, o velho baú de couro, que pertenceu à sua avó portuguesa, desvela segredos sombrios e histórias de vivências de mulheres oprimidas e de vozes silenciadas nesse contexto familiar patriarcal.
As personagens, miscigenadas das etnias formadoras do povo brasileiro, levam-nos a uma reflexão sobre relações sociais discriminatórias e nossa ancestralidade plural.
Para o lançamento foi preparada uma live especial mediada pela produtora cultural Carla Alves e com as participações especiais de Ana Cláudia Trigueiro, Andreia Braz e José de Castro. A transmissão será no canal no Facebook e pelos canais do Mulherio das Letras Zila Mamede e UBE/RN, no Youtube.
TRAMA – O baú de Filomena
O Baú de Filomena conta a história de três gerações de mulheres marcadas por questões que afligem até os dias atuais, dentre elas o patriarcalismo e a violência de gênero.
A obra, vencedora de um concurso literário da Editora CJA, traz ao público uma narrativa densa e muito bem construída, urdida com os fios da memória.
A saga da família Vieira tem início em Portugal, na década de 1920, numa época em que a voz da mulher era silenciada e seu papel era gerar filhos e servir à família.
Depois de perder seus pais e de casar as irmãs mais novas, Maria da Conceição Vieira deixa as terras lusitanas para viver no Sertão Central do Ceará, passando a escrever um novo capítulo de sua história, que agora é lembrada por sua neta Filomena, através de cartas que revelam questões profundas de mulheres que protagonizam a obra.
Mas a trama vai além disso, mergulha na tradição e faz refletir sobre temas inquietantes ligados à ancestralidade, dentre eles a religiosidade de matriz africana, o sincretismo religioso, a influência da cultura indígena e o valor da terra.
Tereza Custódio, assim como a escritora norte-americana Joan Don Chittister, sabe que, “[…] quando uma mulher está consciente de como se tece o mundo ao seu redor, obriga-se a dizer sua parte de verdade em benefício de toda mulher que nasça no futuro”.
TEREZA CUSTÓDIO
Tereza Custódio é cearense, mas mora em Natal desde 1976. Professora aposentada do IFRN.
Em 2016, lançou seu primeiro livro, “O bálsamo”, pela editora Chiado/Portugal, romance premiado pela Diretoria da União Brasileira de Escritores (UBE/RJ) como também ganhador do Troféu Literatura – 2018 pela ZL Editora.
Em 2017, ganhou o primeiro lugar como trovadora em concurso pela UBT/Juiz de Fora.
Em 2018, publicou os livros infantis bilíngue “A vida colorida de Vitória” e “Vitória vai à feira”.
Publicou cordéis e recentemente foi aprovada em concurso nacional para compor a Coletânea sobre os 210 anos de Nísia Floresta.
Seu segundo romance “O baú de Filomena”, recebeu o 1º Lugar no I Edital de Premiação e Seleção de Obras Literárias/2019 na editora CJA Categoria Novela e 2º Lugar no Prêmio Maria Eugênia Montenegro de Romance, pela Fundação José Augusto/2020.
Tereza Custódio participou com poemas, crônicas e contos de algumas antologias nacionais e internacionais. Membro de entidades literárias e presidente da União Brasileira de Escritores (UBE/RN). Colabora com os blogs Substantivo Plural e Papo Cultura.
Esta obra foi selecionada pela Lei Aldir Blanc RN, Fundação José Augusto, Governo do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte, Secretaria Especial da Cultura, Ministério do Turismo e Governo Federal.
