Uma banda cujo nome é inspirada em ópera de Richard Wagner já começa bem. O nome Holandês Voador surgiu da lenda de uma embarcação holandesa cujos tripulantes eram fantasmas e que vaga pelos mares para sempre sem poder atracar.
A partir dessa história, o compositor alemão produziu sua ópera e quatro músicos potiguares começaram sua trajetória musical pela terrinha sete anos atrás, com um som blues/rock experimental e focada na música autoral.
Infelizmente a banda, ao contrário do mítico veleiro holandês, jogou sua âncora e logo desistiram da navegação naquele mesmo ano. E só agora voltam para show neste domingo no Porão das Artes (Pium), a partir das 16h. E ainda com shows de Júlio Lima e Hotel Dolores. Ingresso: R$ 12.
Em 2010, Alain Souza (vocal/guitarra), Daniel Garça (bateria), Melky Medeiros (contrabaixo/vocal – ex-Cafonaite) e Luiz Caju (clarinete/escaleta/percussão- ex-Desventura) se reuniram para gravar a música “Gustavo não pode morrer”(Alain Souza), e enviaram o material para concorrer no Festival Cooperativista de Música/SESCOOP.
O concurso aconteceu na Fundação José Augusto, coordenada pelo guitarrista e produtor Jubileu Filho. A música foi selecionada à finalíssima e a banda concorreu com compositores de destaque no estado, como Julio Lima e Pedro Mendes (vencedores de festivais como MPBeco, Festival de música da UFRN e Forraço).

No mesmo ano o Holandês Voador foi convidado a tocar no ‘Circuito Cultural Baixo de Natal’, saudoso evento que levou música, dança, cinema, teatro e artes plásticas durante uma semana no Nalva Café Salão, Buraco da Catita, Centro Cultural DoSol, Bardalos e no Largo da Ribeira.
Logo após a apresentação a banda deu uma pausa para os integrantes se dedicarem às suas carreiras acadêmicas. Neste aparentemente ano promissor para a música autoral potiguar, a banda retornou cheio de novas composições e a intenção de gravá-las para divulgação ao público, agora com o baterista Fernando Filho.
“Temos 12 canções prontas arranjadas pela banda e mais uma série de letras em processo de trabalho. Queremos difundir ainda mais o atual cenário autoral da capital potiguar. As letras são compostas por Alain Souza, que prioriza pela qualidade e a mensagem destas”, contou Melky Medeiros.
Então, a pedida dominical é embarcar junto com a galera, com o som experimental e sem pensar no próximo porto.
