A arte postal é motivo de exposição artística há décadas. Começou ali pelo meio do século passado, mas ganhou expressão nas décadas de 70 e 80. Entre artistas destacados no “mail art” (desculpe, mestre Ariano!), estão Paulo Bruscky e Júlio Plaza, mas por essas bandas também apresentamos grandes expoentes nesta seara, como Falves Silva e J. Medeiros, que valiam de papéis, envelopes, carimbos, selos, desenhos e colagens como matéria para suas proposições.
Para resgatar essa arte e homenagear, ainda, o classe dos carteiros, os artistas plásticos Fábio di Ojuara e José Nogueira promoveram, enquanto curadores, a exposição “O Carteiro”, no Centro Cultural Balalaika, na Cidade Alta, aberta à visitação até esta quinta-feira, das 9h às 17h. São 41 artistas de diversos países que prestam homenagem aos carteiros. A exposição ocorre, concomitantemente em São Paulo e conta com o apoio do poeta Diógenes da Cunha Lima e do médico e marchand Edrisi Fernandes.
“No Brasil já contamos com centenas de mail artistas. E em Natal ainda estão em atividade neste campo eu, Falves Silva e Avelino Araújo. Então essa exposição põe em evidência essa forma artística e homenageia os carteiros, esta figura de suma importância em nossa vida e uma atividade em declínio ante o mundo cibernético que vivemos”, relatou Fábio di Ojuara.
