Estão abertas as inscrições para edital de Fomento à Cultura Potiguar 2019 do Governo do estado, através da Fundação José Augusto, que objetiva a seleção de 80 iniciativas artístico-culturais, mediante pagamento de prêmios aos projetos selecionados. O aviso do edital está publicado no Diário Oficial do Estado (DOE).

A iniciativa tem como objetivo incentivar diferentes segmentos artístico-culturais, mantendo-os em evidência por meio de uma ação pública que promova, afirme e fortaleça a arte e a cultura potiguar.
Nesta primeira edição serão contemplados os segmentos artísticos de Música, Teatro, Circo, Artes Visuais, Audiovisual e Rádios Comunitárias (segmento que está sendo contemplado pela primeira vez dentro da política pública estadual).
Serão repassados recursos públicos, através de prêmios no valor bruto de R$ 994 mil, (sendo R$ 970 mil para distribuição e R$ 24 mil para as comissões de seleção
O valor bruto dos prêmios terá 50% destinado para a região metropolitana de Natal, e 50% ao interior do estado. Os recursos são oriundos do orçamento geral da Fundação José Augusto.
