Nada menos que nove obras inéditas do maior folclorista do mundo foram descobertas recentemente. A informação foi divulgada nas redes sociais da neta de Câmara Cascudo, Daliana Cascudo. Segundo Daliana, muitas dessas obras foram citadas pelo avô a amigos e procuradas durante anos.
“Com rara sensibilidade e olhar apurado, Woldney Ribeiro, responsável técnico pelo nosso acervo bibliográfico e museológico (do Instituto Ludovicus), encontrou fragmentos destas obras, juntou as peças deste quebra-cabeça e conseguiu reunir verdadeiras relíquias literárias. A ele, minha gratidão eterna!”, escreveu Daliana.
A descoberta é tão incrível que obras como “Caveira no campo de trigo e outros poemas inúteis” foi citado por Cascudo aos amigos Joaquim Inojosa e Mário de Andrade há quase 100 anos. E não é só isso. Daliana lembra que As ruas da cidade do Natal, a história de Ceará Mirim (período de 1605 a 1958), os capitães mores e governadores do RN, os primórdios da literatura potiguar, Buda, a Inglaterra e sua cultura, a cultura popular (entre 1832 a 1012), a genealogia de sua família, são assuntos que mereceram a atenção, o estudo, a pesquisa e a análise de Câmara Cascudo e que agora vêm à tona.
Em carta ao amigo Joaquim Inojosa (13/08/1926), Cascudo cita a obra e envia dois poemas: “Kakemono” e “Shimmy”, este último também remetido ao amigo Mário de Andrade, em carta datada de 10 de junho de 1925. Em carta posterior a Mário (9/12/1925), Cascudo comenta: “Meti o livro de versos (num) envelope e sepultei-o no inferno da biblioteca”.
Sobre outro livro, Cascudo comenta com Mário de Andrade, quando envia o índice (em 23 de agosto de 1925) e quando conta ao amigo, em 25 de maio de 1926: “Já lhe disse que o Bispo de Natal pediu-me que não publique o Buda é Santo Católico? Pois é”.
E outras pérolas como essas foram achadas. E outra notícia boa vem na sequência. Além de comemorar a descoberta, o próximo passo, segundo Daliana, é iniciar os trabalhos para a futura publicação destas obras tão especiais.
